Haliburton Forest Project 2012

The end of another shooting season in Haliburton Forest has been reached, but not before some spectacular images were captured.  This view of the marsh on the Black Creek trail delighted us this past Saturday afternoon as the sun came in and out of the clouds.  My Haliburton Forest project has been completed for the 2012 season, but I will be back in the spring to capture more fantastic images, as I explore the vast corners of the forest looking for new scenes and vista's to photograph.

Prints are available of my work!  And I am hoping that in the not so distant future, that there will be an exhibition opportunity for my images of the forest.  If you would like more information, or to see samples - please feel free to drop me a line at lxdesign@rogers.com

4G1G Exhibition: Toronto In Black And White

Who is the 4G1G?  4G1G is a collective of 5 photographers from the Beach Photo Club.  The name itself means 4 girls and 1 guy... that 1 guy would be me, David Sweeney, and the 4 girls consisting of Sarah Boutillier, Maureen Littlewood, Jeniffer Vieira and Magda Sodzawiczny.  The group formed in the spring of 2010 as a critique group, and by the winter of 2012, a suggestion to put on an exhibition as a collective had been tabled.  Thanks to Sarah Boutiller, the venue for our upcoming exhibit was found.  Please drop by on October 11th anytime between noon and 7pm to see our collective work.

Nikon 1 System

Hello All,

Lately I have been using my new Nikon 1 system -- V1 camera. The camera is a compact mirrorless camera which uses interchangeable lenses, and can also adapt to F mount Nikon lenses. This camera produces awesome 10 megapixel images with decent quality for print or web.

A couple of weeks ago while exploring the countryside, we came upon an old church, and my friend Sarah modelled for us with one of the costumes that she has brought.

C41 processed Black & White film.

I haven't posted anything in a while, so just wanted to quickly share an image. I recently was given some Portra B&W 400ASA C41 film (that's right colour film - but it shoots as black&white). So I went out for a drive with my lovely wife a few weekends ago, and shot off a roll. Here is a sample....
